Mary Budden Estate is located within the beautiful Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary in Uttarakhand in the Kumaon region. Surrounded by 5 acres of a wonderland filled with wildlife, birds, incredible flora and fauna and whispering woods, this nature retreat is an excellent place to unwind, relax and get in tune with nature in complete seclusion amidst the rolling wooded hills of the picturesque Himalayan valley.

Named in the memory of its last known inhabitant, Ms. Mary Budden – a prominent missionary who worked for the welfare of the people in the region, the home has been lovingly restored and transformed into a luxury boutique homestay whilst retaining its original charm by Ashwin and Serena Chopra who bought the estate in the year 1900.

This boutique homestay offers peaceful and tranquil lodging options to choose from. Mary Budden – the Heritage cottage, and Rhododendron Cottage -newly constructed which has a contemporary feel to it. Graced with beautiful furnishing, the rooms exude warmth, elegance and loads of old-world charm. Antique kilm carpets, rich pinewood, fireplace, and decorative pieces create a perfect ambiance for relaxation and comfort and provide a delightful experience to the guests.

Many sit-out spaces are spread over the area where guests can enjoy meals, high teas, read books or just simply sit and soak the tranquility of the place and enjoy the beauty of the surrounding valley.

The estate incorporates many ecologically responsible systems – rainwater harvesting, organic farming and is fully powered by solar energy.

Guests can savor Indian and regional cuisines, prepared from fresh local ingredients and homegrown herbs cultivated in the on-site garden. The kitchen also does an excellent job of accommodating guests with special dietary needs and requests.

Guests can enjoy a wide range of indoor and outdoor activities including nature walks, hiking, village walks, day trips to local towns nearby and do temple visits.
