Ging Tea House, a fully restored British style colonial tea planter’s bungalow, perched 3000 feet above the sea level, surrounded by a breathtaking 6000 hectares of natural landscape and rolling tea plantation, offers a perfect setting for those seeking the quintessential tea valley experience amidst tranquility and seclusion. The estate and the bungalow take you back in time when tea plantations first started in Darjeeling and beautifully capture the old-world charm and British colonial character.

Built in 1864, it is one of the earliest colonial tea planter’s bungalows in the region, located a half hour’s scenic drive from India’s tea capital, Darjeeling. The Ging Tea House is committed to the Sustainability Program, is certified by Rainforest Alliance and meets the HACCP standards. Its tea garden is a 100% bio-organic garden, making its tea free from harmful chemicals under the strict guidance of IMO and Naturland certifications. Also, with more than 60% of the estate left uncultivated, the mountain wildlife has not been disturbed.

All six suites in the bungalow have been tastefully resorted and refurbished, each with a unique character, blending old classical style with modern amenities.The decor is understated, with endless elegance and charm flowing seamlessly. Comfortable beds, wooden flooring, exposed rafters on the high ceiling, antique furniture, drapes, en-suite spacious bathrooms, cozy corners, and fireplace exude warmth and comfort and make for a luxurious stay.

The estate offers plenty of options for recreation and entertainment both outdoors and indoors, including a tea factory visit to see the tea manufacturing process, enjoying a tea-tasting session, and participating in tea plucking activities. Guests can also take a leisurely walk along the winding trails to soak in the nature filled with wildflowers, and the sound of chirping birds. Rolling tea gardens and lush green wooded areas, all with the backdrop of the majestic Kanchenjunga range, further enhances the unique experience for the guests.
