Summertime has finally arrived, greeting us with the long, warm, sun-filled days we adore .The season brings a sense of exhilaration and joyful energy. It opens up abundant opportunities to venture outdoors and engage in a wide range of activities at an easy, unhurried pace.
As the long weekend approached, we desired to explore a destination nearby that could be conveniently reached by road, avoiding the crowded airport that comes with this bustling season of the year.
We chose Wildwood in Cape May County, New Jersey – a seaside town which we had long kept on our wishlist, but always skipped it with the excuse that it was nearby and could be explored anytime. Its beautiful white sandy beaches , classic boardwalk, and a relaxed coastal town felt perfect for the kind of the slow-paced getway we’d been yearning.

We started our journey early in the morning from our home in New Jersey, letting the scenic roads ease us into the vacation mode. In just three unhurried hours ,we reached by late morning with the whole day ahead of us to wander, unwind and enjoy everthing at our own pace.
The weather was exceptional- bright, clear, and filled with sunshine. After checking into our vacation rental, we decided to head straight to Boardwalk to grab a bite and to ease into our exploration. The vacation rental was just a short three-minute walk from the Broadwalk and the beach making the whole experience even more relaxed and convenient.

Wildwood’s famous Boardwalk stretches for more than two miles, lined with eateries, shops, water parks, fun-filled arcades, and amusement piers with over 100 rides and attractions.
Its iconic Sightseer Tram Cars, still charming visitors after 73 years and provide a fun and convenient option for visitors to explore the long stretch of the boardwalk.
We paused for lunch at Snow White Fish Restaurant, a bustling spot known for its classic fish and chips. We had to wait a while as it was fully packed. The food was fresh and delicious and was served with homemade red sauce, coleslaw, and chips – comfort food which pairs with a day by the sea.

Following our scrumptious meal, we strolled through the side streets. The town hosts several events throughout the year. We visited the Boardwalk Outdoor Craft Fair where local crafters were showcasing and selling their handmade creations like trinkets, paintings, coastal-inspired handicrafts, and artisanal soaps.
After exploring the craft market, we headed straight to the beach! We spent the rest of the day relaxing on the beach, soaking up the summer sun while taking a refreshing dip in the ocean.

The following morning, with another bright & sunny day ahead, we wandered through the town exploring the local spots and attractions. This also included a visit to the Plum Beach Farm and the Lighthouse in Cape May, both of which are absolutely must-see when in Wildwood & Cape May.

By late afternoon, we found ourselves back on the bustling Wildwood Boardwalk, indulging in a classic slice from Mack’s Pizza and grabbing warm cups of coffee as we leisurely strolled around the boardwalk, shops and the beachfront.
This vibrant vacation destination enriched by numerous entertainment options catering to all age groups, historic charm, beautiful beaches & bustling boardwalk, makes it a favorite beach destination along the Jersey Shore, providing unforgettable summer vacation experiences.
